Lying between the River Wye and River Severn, the Forest of Dean covers 100 square kilometres on the borders of Wales and Gloucestershire which makes it the ideal location for avid walkers.
There are many sights and attractions to behold in the forest, these include The Dean Heritage Centre, cave systems, and the railway centre.
The heritage centre allows an insight to forest inhabitants and farmers who herded livestock in the area. The cave system shows you where miners collected iron ore and ochre, while the railway centre holds an intriguing collection of railway memorabilia.
The Gloucester docks are based at the mouth of the River Severn, the point where thousands of early settlers set off for the New World.

The building of cathedral back began in 1220 and was completed in 38 years, with the spire added later in 1334. It’s said the building has no solid foundations and is built on bundles of wood, that need to remain wet to offer support.

Salisbury and Old Sarum
This fascinating trip looks at Salisbury and Sarum, which was original Bronze Age settlement that Salisbury grew from.
Sarum was abandoned in 1200 AD, leaving behind valuable pieces of history including Salisbury Cathedral which boasts the tallest church spire in England at 404 feet.
Considered one of the ancient wonders of the world, Stonehenge was constructed as a supposed religious and timekeeping function between 4000 and 5000 years ago. Our tour of Stonehenge can be combined with a trip to Bath.
Additionally, no visitor is permitted to enter the stone circle or touch the stones without special permission.
Waddesdon Manor is situated on a hill close to Aylesbury and was built by the Rothschild family. Inspired by a 16th century French Chateau, the manor is home to vast gardens as well as flamboyant art and furnishings.
The Manor is operated by the National Trust, and it’s advisable to pre-book tickets as it can be very busy at peak times.
Built on the banks of the River Avon, Warwick Castle is considered one of the most preserved castles in the country and frequently rated as one of Britain’s top attractions.
